FREE.(download now) This hat and knitting pattern are donations to Lene Rohde’s charity project, Climb for the Girls. Lene will celebrate her 50th anniversary on January 20, 2012 at the top of Mount Kilimanjaro, to draw attention to the world’s poorest girls – many of whom never get to celebrate their 50th birthday.
The goal is to raise 10.000 US dollars for a school project in Bondo, Kenya, which is where Lene sponsors two children through Plan Denmark – a part of one of the largest children’s development organizations in the world. The campaign will run until March 2012 and all donations will go directly to Plan Denmark’s Girl Fund – www.plandanmark.dk. Late donations to Plan Danmark are welcome.
